It is good to have priorities and Herville Albert Schtein’s home is high in his priorities. There is nothing wrong with that. :) Being a criminal that killed several person is almost as worrying that living in street (without place where the cops can catch you easily)after you escape.
First Doc summoned a match from nothing and now he has a telephone card.
He’s obviously a magician, so to escape he could just jump into a broom closet, get some friends to hide the door behind a large velvet cloth (this part should be done as sexily as possible) and poof, he’s not there.
For a practical joke, the inmates could put a pigeon inside the closet, close and open the door; he would get summoned back inside.
I love that last panel. The angle, pose, expression and imminent roach-flicking are so cinematic. Its so much more real and interesting than what could have been done in a “guy talking on the phone” scene.
I also really dig the second panel, Schtein’s telltale black glove peeking out there. Nice!
Is he going to try to squash a roach in the last panel?? XDDD Guh, I love this comic. Expressions, as always, are brill, so are backgrounds and the dialog.
My my god, yes!
There’s a sad lack of String Theory rule 34 on the internet. I think it has a long reached the maturity point for that, you should fix the issue asap.
Now to think of it, what also exists, is a sad lack of female characters on String Theory. Delia’s only that much and who else we have, the warden? Oh well, Yaoi is fine too.
well, setting your comic in a prison tends to make it a sausage party. Bad excuse, though, since chapter one was pretty heavily made of men, too. Oh well. There’ll be way more chicks in the next chapter, guaranteed.
For those confused about the phone card, which I sincerely hope some are being sarcastic: panel 3, look at the telephone’s panel. It says Jacob Jacobs *2309574 i.e. Jayjay. the favor was for his card, and for the distraction.
Although i personally wonder how jayjay got that in the first place. They give out phonecards.. or like.. prison credit cards.. to the inmates?
I added that text in yesterday, so that’s my fault. I’d meant to have it there the entire time. It’s not a good idea to make comic pages when you’re exhausted, I guess!
Anyway, all the prisoners have ID cards/credit cards. Even Dr. Schtein, he just doesn’t have any credits in his account since he’s only had a prison job for a day, and you get creditted every two weeks.
You’re not allowed to have physical money in prisons. Not in real life, either. Fairly sure that real prisons do this with ID cards as well. Though probably not to the extent of it being swipable, they probably just make you input your ID number or something everywhere…
Well I say, excellent job, as per usual! But then I see others have beaten me to the punch…
It’s the little details I love. The graffiti by the phone (is that a “shut up damn pecker wood” in response to the “WHITE POWER”? Bahahaha) and Schtein’s salesman smile in the first panel especially. The dialogue is great, especially the “… or worse!” bit. And I wonder what Jayjay will ask in return from Schtein.
Oh man, I love the guy with the scar in the background.
That guy is thinking about something really fierce.
On another note, I love JayJay more each time he shows up. Is it really possible that he’s as nice, well-adjusted and helpful of a guy as he seems? Even if he isn’t, the “seeming nice” bit by itself is definitely a plus–much more likeable that way. A nice guy must be hard to find in a high-secutrity prison in the middle of a nuclear wasteland.
Yeah, I know, when I uploaded it the first time I had named the file wrong without noticing it. I’m sure there’s a way to change the page name, but it wasn’t immediately apparent to me and I had other things to worry about at the time.
“hey look at that thing over there!”
“hmmmmmmm, it is a thing…”
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL….like that actually works in real life? and yet in the movies it works every time

I thought he lived in the research facility?
Didn’t he live in the research facility?
Great “camera angles” here. You convey the sneaking and hiding well. I especially like the composition of the last panel.
He did, but he also owns his late mother’s home.
Don’t forget to tell your lawyer who you are, Dr. Schtein!
Although I suppose he’d recognize your disdainful tone of voice anywhere.
I could get murdered! OR WORSE EXPELLED.
Good lord you win at life.
I love Schtein’s and JayJay’s faces in the first panel. So…scheming. Mwahaha.
Why it’s almost like he wants out of prison already! But he only just got there, maybe it had a lot to offer! :P
Look at that cockroach, listening in on his phone call! Such a nosy bug.
And what about Marcus, Schtein? Aren’t you concerned about him as well?
I don’t think he is. What a jerk.
I second the compliment on the composition and angles. Very professional!
This page is great! I peeked in a few times during your stream and it is amazing to see the final product :)
My everlasting love for you Becks is undying, BRAVA. Its very pleasent to see so much AMAZIN’ WORK! ItmakesmefilledwithHAPPYNESS.
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the way he is about to flick away the cockaroach
I soooo suspect a heavy guard boot to crush it in the next page.
DIE COCKAROACH!
I love this page. The expressions in the first panel especially.
It’s good to see Schtein hasn’t forgotten about the mundane aspects of his life.
“Why is the sky blue?”
“Hmmmm…”

Isn’t Benson the name of Schtein’s assistant in chapter one?
This is a new Benson, yes?
Hmm. you’re right. I knew I was pulling that name from somewhere. I’ll have to change this page, then.
The first panel totally looks like he’s grabbing Jayjays backside oÔ

wow, Schtein somehow managed to get a phonecard :) I wonder how…
expressions in panel 1 are really good!
Panel one, sans dialogue, looks like the prelude to a tryst (and thus my fanfiction is born).
Oh, man, that would be the first fanfic anyone’s written about this comic. It just would be!
I sincerely doubt that. It might be the first to be written on a billboard along a major American highway, though.
*peers* do I see Ewon in the first panel?
Since I don’t know who that is, probably not!
Feel free to pretend, though. :D
Is he going to try to squash a roach in the last panel?? XDDD Guh, I love this comic. Expressions, as always, are brill, so are backgrounds and the dialog.
I’m using panel 1 as proof for my slash material from now on. You’re welcome :P
Then my job here is done.
My my god, yes!

no comment on the rule 34 thing, though. I neither encourage nor discourage.

That huge favor will come in handy when Phineas and Schtein break out.

My first thought is ‘I’d hate to be that bug…’
I noticed a mistake:
The file for this page’s comic is “2010-09-22-page-thirtyfour”, but it should be “2010-09-22-page-fiftyfour”.
Yeah, I know, when I uploaded it the first time I had named the file wrong without noticing it. I’m sure there’s a way to change the page name, but it wasn’t immediately apparent to me and I had other things to worry about at the time.
The last panel is fantastic. The pose, the expression, the angle, the poor little unsuspecting bug. All of it.
