I love how you draw hands, but these palms take the biscuit – the meaty part of the thumb?? So right. Also this comic has always given me a better idea of American interior decorating. What is that giant shaker on the table? Sugar, salt, mystery?
It’s just not an authentic diner without that giant sugar…thing. It’s hardly a shaker, more like a pour-er. I love your attention to detail! I wouldn’t have even thought about the stuff on the table. You even got the little card with the drinks on it.
Okay, so I’m still kind of boggled that he’s vegan. I need closure. I assume he’s not in it out of some sort of compassion…. so is he just a super picky eater that’s grossed out by animal parts and secretions??
hey it’s a little bit compassion. He just thinks the idea of killing an animal just to eat it is pointlessly cruel and wasteful. But mostly just grossed out by the idea.
It just came a bit of out of nowhere. The Doc previously did substance abuse and went through a lot of guinea pigs while testing his first teleporter (back in the first chapter). And now he won’t even eat eggs or cheese? What did he eat in prison?
also in prison if you’re the guy who won’t eat your serving of cake you can barter it and you can probably get like 4 servings of vegetables just for that 1 cake. This is what I read from people who served time who were vegans.
the only way I could make him whiter is if I literally bucket filled white onto him, lol. No, I’ve been using the same flat color for him for ages. He was a bit greyer in shade when I first started coloring, though.
Maybe someday… he will go outside… But would he even tan or would he just burn to a crisp.
He seems to me like the kind of person who would just burn, but maybe that’s just cause his light(white?) hair and pale skin make me think of albinism. Nothin good has ever come from going outside, anyways. Hmph.
Unrelated side note: I wonder if, by eating the memories of more… decent(or just more social) folk than him, he could actually improve himself. Maybe memory vampire himself some more empathy. Or at least get better at -acting- less abrasive and asshole-ish around other people. He does seem rather personable here, hmm..
This is just my personal opinion, but I think he will gain empathy be default since he now has the experiences and relevant emotions from those memories. Whenever something was outside his knowledge or made him uncomfortable his self defense mechanism of pissing people off came into play. Now he can fall back on the emotions and reactions of others as well as his own since those experiences can help him empathize but also allow for his own judgements and emotional reactions to take place rather than simply copying the best one from his collection of stolen memories.
On that note, Mr. Grundy I was wondering if his new and improved social skills are due to him using his powers on other people or was this done through his evolution as an individual after being thrown into so many different and extreme situations forcing him to change?
Wait, shouldn’t our perspective be actually much larger than the quantum angle?
changed his wording, then.
i love doc’s goofy faces in those last two panels. life sure is wacky!
Those wacky tachyons!

sugar. Gotta have that big thing of sugar even though there were also packets.

and they always have rice in them for some reason (moisture probably)
I think so, yeah.

He mostly ate from what he could buy in the prison commissary and a little bit of whatever didn’t look like it contained animals in the cafeteria.
But I did draw him disgustingly flicking away a slice of bologna. I’ve had him vegan in my mind from the beginning.
Guinea pigs dying had a purpose and thus fits into his world view.

Is it just me, or is doc starting to show a smidge of self-awareness/introspection?
can’t remember if it was mentioned before, but what are Jen’s pronouns? :)
they/them. it hasn’t really been brought up in the comic
I have an uncle who’s younger than me. Life is indeed wacky.
I’m an aunt to someone older than me. *shrug!*
Is it me or the doctor is a bit more tan?

Last 2 panels, I died XD. Looks like he finally found someone to casually talk to as a friend/buddy and not play cruel pranks on. Wasn’t Able a clone?
P.S. Dont know why but that last panel makes me think of a young friendly beetle-juice talking to a fellow ghost.
Doc looking very Lupin in last panel.
all the details are the fabs!
