Chp7 Page31
boy I probably could have made it more obvious laurence just has his arm dangling behind the couch.
Oh well.
Also: announcement, I’m going out of town for the next four days which will cut into my comic workin’ time so I’m either not going to update next week or I will just be kinda late. I’m hoping for kinda late. I don’t like not updating!
Also this is the last page of this scene, but next update will be about a person I’m sure we all miss, though we don’t really know why…
EDIT: Yes, I see the typo, but whoops I don’t have the time to fix it, I’m in galveston! I’ll fix it on monday.
I want the story to go back to alice i’m really hoping it goes that way
About the arm thing; he should be facing more towards the side if his arm is behind the couch. As is, he’d have to be straining pretty hard to get his arm to dangle.
Unless he’s more.. putting his arm around the back of the couch, rather than dangling it. In that case he’s fine.
Or he’s just unusually flexible. I’m pretty sure I could have been comfortable in that position when I was a teenager.
I could also just be a fallible artist ;)
with that description, my guess is ben langstrom
The first panel is not what I was expecting. I thought Schtein’s red memory-stealing tendrils were just light or energy or visual metaphor, but they seem to be attached to his wrists and dragging along the ground.
So Schtein has tentacles now? I’m. . . not sure how to feel about that.
It’s not like solid or nothin’, they dissipate in the air, but yeah they’re kind of like veiny tendrils. I seem to be alternating between drawing it more smokey, more energy sparky and tendrilly like this. Someday I’ll settle on a design method.
Try drawing them as flowing between the three different states, that would be pretty rad. Freaky nerve endings worming out of his skin and onto his victim (look up “ribbon worm proboscis” on youtube), red smoke and haze flowing out of their nose, mouth, ears, and eyes.
So Alice takes after her mother’s side of the family? Particularly Laurence? Heh, cool.
(His bio says he didn’t have good grades when he was younger, which to me, means he just didn’t care about them, since he’s pretty smart otherwise.)
Typically genius and work ethic don’t go hand-in-hand, so there’s a pretty good chance that she likely has some unknown characteristics hidden within her…
Why the hell am I feeling sorry for him? He’s an arrogant, self-centered jerk with all the appeal of pre-Heel/Face turn Grinch.
Aw, but that’s the Grinch I prefer :-)
