Man. I’ve loved your facial expressions throughout the comic, from the very beginning, but the emotion in each one on this page, especially that sidelong sneering yell in panel 8, just leap off the page. This is wonderful.
The list of names (Seneon, Asineus, etc.) are from the Gnostic Bible. Angels, I think? Hard to remember.
“Like a dream, waiting to be removed” sounds like it’s from a poem, but which one?
Is “They laugh when she talks, strange that you thought…” from a poem as well? IT sounds like song lyrics, but google isn’t bringing anything up.
oh shit, as if his own mental trauma wasn’t enough, doc just had to brain-vamp the most insane person in the comic.
p.s. this sort of mental state reminds me of VALIS by Philip K Dick, which is a novel told from the POV of an (extremely) unreliable narrator that develops a possible drug-induced schizophrenia and starts getting visions from the gnostic god. It plays with the “is he actually crazy, or are the visions real, or both” trope quite a bit. It’s also based on real events from PKD’s life, and the main character is essentially himself.
I really like when you do the “red-background-with-motion-lines” thing to show Herville’s angry state! Is it my imagination, or did you start to do it only after her gained alt-powers? Is there any connection?

It sounds like these particular monsters were made, not born.
the names are form the three steles of seth, they’re emanations of the original god barbelo
the other parts are song lyrics, yeah, they’re heavily paraphrased and cut up, though, so good luck. :D
gotta keep that primo sniffer clean
I love all the expressions. So much mental trauma.

*he gained alt-powers
Ps why is Jessup acting as if he just recognized Herv? He already learned that he’s Orville’s grandson at the conference: http://www.stringtheorycomic.com/comics/chapter-seven/chp7-page-51/
