Sorry about the gap, that shouldn’t happen again for a long time. It’s been a busy summer with moving and the yearly party and all.
That’s okay, I just spent much longer on the scenery than I usually do. So here’s the project they’re actually working on. Look at all that machinery and sciencey mumbo jumbo! Hooray!

It suddenly occurred to me, is the subjects-turning-inside-out-during-attempted-teleportation bit a reference to Cronenberg version of The Fly?
Not really. I’ve only seen like the second half of that movie. I should watch the whole thing someday!
I couldn’t put my finger on it, but now I know what that machinery makes me think of: the cover of Joe Walsh’s Songs for a Dying Planet: http://www.joewalshonline.com/images/dyingplanet.jpg called “three men in a boot” where everything looks decayed and steam-ish.
