Panel 1, close up of the patient having his bandages removed. Off screen the doctor is talking: You were pretty lucky, Mr. Schtein! Mostly all you suffered from the explosion were cuts, burns, and bruises. Not even a single broken bone. But, ah, your eyes...
Panel 2, The patient, Dr. Schtein gasps as the doctor tells him: They were badly damaged in the initial plasma burst. We weren't able to save them.
Dr. Schtein: I'M BLIND?!
Panel 3, Dr. Schtein rubs his eyes, the medical doctor continues: Oh, no. No, no. We replaced them. This is brand new technology.
Panel 4, a close up on Dr. Schtein's new eyes as the doctor checks them. They're black with red irises. The doctor states: Try not to blink.
Panel 5, Dr. Schtein: Well, that's miraculous and all... but is everything supposed to be in black and white?

Just wanted to add that I find this extremely clever… not only is his eyesight a great justification for having a monochromatic comic, but its a nice metaphor for his worldview (if I’m reading this right).
Ahhhhhhhhhh, so cool, we get to see that his pupils are RED, which you don’t get to see unless you check out DA or the fanart….
Sweet!
At some point, I completely stopped noticing how odd his eyes were. I have to be reminded that they aren’t natural; they’re just HIM.
Ah, I was going back and rereading your comic and I realized how new and sleek some of these panels are….very clever, I love the new look!
So I went ahead and looked back at the beginning of the story re-read through it, and this page instantly caught my eye. I just wanted to say that I really liked how you originally drew the light going into the eye. I wish you hadn’t changed it :(
Ooo, lookit the eyebrow and eyelash details on the second to last panel!
The third panel’s got to be my favorite of this page. It’s just so much fuller that the rest of it, it really catches attention. Plus I’m the type who stares at the little details of a picture for a long time.
