Ho. Lee. SMOKE. Yeah, I’ll BET it took some time to draw! Wow. Don’t burn yourself out doing this. Wait, what am I saying don’t listen to me you do what you WANT, oooooo so lovely.
Love this page! The backgrounds and greenery are amazing and the detail on that villa/mansion are amazing!
On a different note Doc. is so prim and proper in his posture until that last panel, is he reenacting a Mr. Inspector Clouseau from the old cartoons XD.
Gorgeous gorgeous page! I can’t imagine the research and effort it took to draw that mansion but it was well worth it. And I love the little details too that emphasize the eerie abandoned feel of the place, like how the mail is all piled up in front of the door from no one getting it, how the creek that flowed under that bridge has dried up, and that suspicious pentagram in the stained glass…
the pentagram is an old timey ward to keep evil from entering your home. It doesn’t seem to be working though as dr. schtein was able to cross the threshold quite easily
I dunno. Having to put your entire weight behind really pushing the door open doesn’t qualify as “crossing the threshold quite easily” in my book. I’d say it’s working moderately well. As well as can be expected for graphic design to do anything, really.
I mean, just look at that look of disgust on Dr. Schtein’s face!
Ah, the light freckling the dust in the doorway, the mail, the general feel of decay and age– all so wonderfully rendered! and yep, I noticed the haircut too. Thanks, Mr G!
ohoHOOOO this PAAAAGE
i can smell it
You’re getting real damn good with the backgrounds! Ever thought of going back and redrawing early chapters with this new style?
This page is beyond beautiful. Well invested effort.

Holy guacamole those backgrounds and lights are awesome. Of course it took a long time, I hope you’re happy with it, because I am happy to see it =D

That’s a really big, spooky house. I like it.
“You remember our venerable house, Opulent and imperial…”
Home again, home again.
That house must have like some hidden laser cannon defense system that has kept all the looters and arsonists away.
more like a groundskeeper that suddenly lost his job about a year ago
Everyone’s going on about the backgrounds but i can’t get over how weird he looks without his hair slicked back.
it’s not slicked back it’s shorter, he got a haircut

Somehow this reminds me of Anchorhead (the 90s text adventure). The density of dark secrets in both houses is propably the same ^.^
Looks more like out a bit west on Route 11. (You’re creeping me out big time here.)
well I did pull a lot of reference photos from grandin road near route 11, so, spot on
I so envy your ability to draw backgrounds.♡ And vehicles… Anyways, I adore the scenery and the amazing details of the mansion~♡
Wow, okay, I know we’ve seen it in flashbacks but I didn’t really realize “mansion” meant “goddamn huge mansion” like actual mansion mansion. Damn.
