Stein: “I’m terrible, why would you ever help me? I’ve done so many horrible things all the time Are you an idiot?”
Also Stein: “I have never done anything wrong, in my life and am never to blame.”
I realized that literally as soon as I clicked “Post” but it wouldn’t let me edit it and I figured it wasn’t worth another comment correcting myself. I’ve followed this comic since pretty much the first page, I’m just terrible with remembering and spelling names. XD
that’s cool, it happens. I’m just on guard about it because I’ve had a couple people actually argue with me about the spelling which is just. yikes. haha. whoo.
yeah, exactly, like whenever groups of people immigrate places their last names get spelled differently. Or, like in Doc’s case, different ethnic groups will spell the same name different. Some ancestor of Doc’s was a Jewish jeweller.
No need for immigration. All it takes is a half-deaf pastor a few hundred years ago and bam your ancestor gets a shiny new family name in the church register. And guess what? It sticks :)
“Properly spelled last name” is a recent hallucination. I own a piece of rural property in Virginia, and all the records up until even the 1920s spell the same person’s last name various ways. Is the road Ellett’s Creek or Elliott Creek? Up until the 1950s it didn’t matter, everyone in the county knew which road you were talking about. (Seriously.)
Yeah his super power clearly isn’t survival instinct. Let’s keep antagonizing our friend with anger issues who just threatened to kill us not 1 minute ago because that’s smart!
First off love the background, second I like that the Doc. has some redeeming qualities such as saving a friends life even though he is a jerk 85-90% of his day to day life.

His name is Schtein, actually. :D
But yeah, he’s not great at self awareness.

Oh man, yeah, super yikes! Regardless of if they’re based on real words, name spellings vary all the time!

…That’s very specific. There a story there?
Author couldn’t possibly be right about his own characters…
Oh and while we’re at it superpowers aren’t real and shit

yes and my family was fairbanke/fairbank in england and then fairbanks in america, but that is not what is happening here.

The look on Launrence’s face in the last panel is amazing.
LAURENCE hi my hands shake pretty bad i meant laurence lmao
this strip is apparently cursed to make everyone misspell character names in the comments today
no just the stein/schtein one turns me into some kind of frothing nut.
LAUNRENCE STEIN
huh. he seems borderline. trying to drive larry away before he can decide to leave him himself, i mean.
Schtein this is not how you win friends and influence people
But I heard about this thing called negging, it like, totally works, right?
oh no… oh no it doesn’t… :(
First off love the background, second I like that the Doc. has some redeeming qualities such as saving a friends life even though he is a jerk 85-90% of his day to day life.
Very swave, Schtein.
No, that is exactly how you influince people…to leave you alone and without help.
