Honestly, I think its the guinea pigs situation. All those poor guinea pigs from the first chapter.
Ahhh, the struggle of developers explaining to non-developers and/or bosses why what they want is either not possible or able to happen immediately.

He totally didn’t think of a recall, uh, function. That would be planning way too far into the, uh, future!
I imagine it’s similar to the teleported in poisoned minds future events. Sending is easy and exact, but retrieving would grab the target, and everything in a large radius of it as well. Kinda like scooping chunks of the world and dragging it along for the ride.

Anyone who works in IT or Change Control understands that users never really use the thing until they need it, and then they realize they need a thousand other features. After it’s already in production/use.
