Chp7 Page 01
Dr. Schtein is fun to draw being thrown around like a sack of garbage. He probably weighs like 100 pounds, so I bet it’s easy.

he also kind of a jerk, so I bet it’s also satisfying.
I bet! I mean that’s why it’s fun to draw.
I love how the last scene we saw him in he was all “naw man I ain’t taking your crap” and then here he is, being manhandled.
Yeah, now that you mention it, it’s quite hilarious. :)
This whole time, I kept hoping Schtein would escape and run free, but I knew deep down that wasn’t going to happen. His life is to difficult for it to suddenly get easy.
He makes a lot of his own problems. I bet he posts on message boards on the internet about how much he haaaaaates drama.
I know, right? I love his flippant attitude in the face of adversity, though.
I think that last scene was more: “I ain’t taking your metahuman crap”, but when it comes to the physical kind of pushiness, he – well, he’s about a hundred pounds. One sucker punch was all he was gonna get :)
dr schtein’s fighting style: “HEY LOOK OVER THERE!” *runs away*.
“hey, what up, gramps” oh my god
Being manhandled is even worse when you can’t stand for other people to touch you.
Turns out getting a hologram monitor actually was a good idea.
I was just going to draw a bunch of papers flying around, but then I was like ‘wait a minute this comic takes place in the future. paper??’ also I didn’t want to draw them
100 lbs? Soaking wet, maybe!
Oh god. It took me 3 passes through to realize he was crashing through the holo monitor.
Oh man, I love the details (like that fancy little tea cup and saucer wobbling from the impact… I bet Thanatos is glad it wasn’t full, he might have stained the desk). And the “Schtein” lip- snarl panel was pretty great, it looks like he’s tense and trying not to yell.
I heard it in the voice of the landlord in Ace Ventura, in the way he glowers and says “Ventuuuuraaa”.
SPOILER: The point was to have Opa Schtein finish his work on Orville.
wrong and wrong
Considering the mental bitchsmack he delivered on the way out, I’d say that wasn’t part of the plan.
The composition of this page is just stunning. I love how all the angles of the panels are purposeful.
Stunning colors and developments! I wonder if the point was to have Schtein carry something along with him into Opa’s bailiwick that neither discovered while he was there. Was he a human bug? (something he closely resembles anyway)
No need. They found some guy named Greg Samsa in Marketing who was better suited to that job.
