Chp6 Page 33
wait I’ve changed my mind, I still like drawing human type people also. Easier mouths. No tails to keep track of.
This page description won’t make sense to new readers so sorry.
I put all the animal friend cast page portraits up onto my comic tumblr in case you missed it
“How about if we give you cookies? Don’t you like cookies?”
*stares* “Come on, I’ll get the ‘special’ cookies they give to the dying ward.”
C’mon, Langstrom, do it! For science! By the way, Langstrom is quickly becoming one of my favorites : )
Hooray! (the actual not pranksy) new page!
I miss the animal version. :(
I like how despite Langstrom having little to no lines this page, his expressions are worth a thousand words. To be frank, I didn’t like these characters very much in their first introduction, but they’re starting to become more appealing as you get a hold on how to draw them. Second to last panel looks a bit odd, though. Is she supposed to be staring out ahead of herself, or at Benjamin? If the former, ok, but if its the latter, she isn’t exactly looking at him.
that’s kind of hard to judge when you can only see one eye, though. iris could be a little thinner, I suppose, but it’s like a difference of like two pixels, haha.
I will never get the image of Lucy as a bunny rabbit out of my head.
“We’re your friends. We work for the government.”
I’m not even slightly a libertarian, but something about that line… Brrrr. :) Nicely done.
Haha, Ben’s dialogue is hilariously theatrical.
That Aprils joke page is burned into my memory, as I read this page all I can still see are the animal heads >_>
Lucy has my exact haircut and she’s adorable I love her!!
A pity – I miss the Apr 1 version. I had hopes that Langstrom could project his delusions and everything would start to turn into animals in his presence, but only he would see it… at first…
“The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.'”
-Ronald Reagan
you’ve probably heard this before, but I have to say it: you are really good at drawing hands. seriously, those are the hardest things to draw!
aw thank you. I just like drawing hands. don’t ask me to draw horses, though, good lord.
Wow, I read this whole thing in two days. This is the most intense and in-depth comic I’ve ever read. Like srsly, shit dude. What really blows me away besides the subtle-but-scary character development is (and you’ve probably heard this a thousand times) how the art progresses from cartoon-y and simple to semi-realistic with color. Intentional or not, this to me symbolizes Schtein’s fall from what he thought was reality into the truths surrounding him, in regards to his past, who he is, and who those around him are (man, after what he learned about his Opa altering his DNA, I have expected him to shout “my life is a lie!”).
Oh, and this is kinda random, but was the fifth panel here http://www.stringtheorycomic.com/comics/chapter-three/page-seventy/ foreshadowing Schtein’s eventual powers? Cuz that’s really cool. Oh yeah, and I meant mention your coloring skills. Omg you make a sewer look beautiful it’s nuts. Like how.
Thanks for sharing this awesome adventure, I’m going to keep following it to the end for sure. And lol this comment probably looks massive, I tried to keep it short. Whoops.
Andie
into the truths surrounding him (in regards to his past)* half-expected him to shout** Dammit I always manage to typo somehow Dx
“Dr. Schtein and Orville are rats” sounds like “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead”.
Oh, wait. That was april fools? Jeez, coulda (and did) fooled me! Considering what everyone else can do, I suspended disbelief on that quite nicely, thought it was part of the story! Very nice, mate. Very nice.
