I really like the atmosphere in the first panel! All the boxed-up stuff (did he recently move in?) and the motes of dust in the light… It’s a really great mood. (Also this is weird but I like how you rendered grumpy’s glass in the first panel a lot!)
I don’t know if I terribly missed something, but I never saw the romantic stuff between Delia and Degroot? I had no idea that was their involvement until it was explicitly said out of comic… Maybe someone can direct me to why I should’ve understood.
(I don’t think I ever comment I love this whole comic a lot)
Clearly I need to reread the archives cause I totally forgot this “Eric” existed. Although I also don’t remember seeing his last name so maybe I just have a terrible memory.
Also, I love seeing the development of the character of your art throughout the comic, it’s pretty awesome how incredibly awesomely you’ve improved. =D
…Is that his computer monitor with the old windows space/stars screensaver?
The motes of dust and the light cast into the office through the blinds hit me right away, I agree with chickadee that it really does wrap the reader up in a blanket of atmosphere.
Oh, and nothing starts the day like being told the only reason people will think you’re here is because you’ve had sex with somebody, the whole science genius thing doesn’t come into it I guess (shakes fist at stupid boss).
Zomg awesome new evil dude! (folds hands together like Mr Burns) yesss smithersss….
…and, NOTHING wrong with starting the day with a good whisky. But since this is an evil dude, I’d like to think he’s just drinking some cheap blend made in the People’s United Dictatorial Territories of El Bananamalez.
The glass is rendered BEAUTIFULLY! I can almost feel the weight of it–it looks like it’s old enough too that it’s somewhat cloudy rather than clear, and makes the drink look milky–LOVE!!
excellent work , as always
Signs you’ve been playing too much Mass Effect: you happen upon panel 1, and immediately think, “Delia’s new boss is the Illusive Man?”
Moving on, I absolutely love the use of lighting on this page. Those sharp-edged shadows, unf.
Also, as stated above, Delia is adorable and her awkward floundering makes me want to hug her.
…I am imagining Chauncey with the voice of Laurence Fishburn. Don’t ask me why.
Delia continues to be adorable. More news at 10.

I think it’s more along the lines of “Good Lord, it’s already 8AM! I’ve missed so much drinking!”
sleeping is a waste of time that could be better spent drinking. God!

delia’s a bit of a homewrecker, I guess.
Also, thank you! C:
phew I really need to clean up my archive’s page title formatting. What a mess!
Ohh! Yeah guess I lost myself there. Sorry!

I think this is the first time anyone’s called him by his last name before.
Third panel. Her gesture in the third panel is so TRUE I heard her voice get muffled ‘cos of the hand in front of her mouth. Amazing.
Apple juice.
yeah, sure why not. A great way to start the morning!
DAT GLASS.
Ah yes, nothing like starting a new job and already someone knows who screwed who.
This guy is kind of creeping me out. I definitely get a “I know everything about you” vibe from him. And it’s not a pleasant one.

Well, this guy’ll be a problem.

“Do you know how that’s going to look to the rest of the department? I’m supposed to have eminent domain here & that imbecile got there first.”
