Chapter 9, Page 24
oof. Yeah. What a boner killer, sorry Doc. You know he’s going to be embarrassed tomorrow. Like the day after he hit on Osgood. Next page he’ll have clothes on again, don’t worry. Also he’ll have taken a shower. That’s a String Theory guarantee (*not actually guaranteed).
Reminder about my BIG OLD PATREON!! Where you can see the inks for this page and the previous page and the pencils. There’s gonna be sketches and stuff too since I need to do some sketches for an upcoming scene to figure out outfits and such. Oh, I love designing outfits for characters, it’s very fun.
I had a lot of fun inking this page, I tried some new stuff out.
The SPEED at which he went from groveling literally on hands and knees to this piss poor smarmy attempt at seduction gave me whiplash. No shame indeed! What a delightfully funny, hyper-embarrassing page, lol
I just realised that Schtein does not seem to have much body hair for a man his age. He has a little on his legs, but none on his chest.
not everyone is follicularly blessed. some people have to be twinks. alas
page looks sooo clean
… unlike Schtein’s room. ;-)
Oh my, I do believe in a nicer (cleaner) room…he might have got a little something something.
Honestly, they might be fairly sexually compatible…we know that Doc’s biggest kink is “chicks yelling at him”, after all, and Ms. Thanatos there could likely, in the eternal words of Basil Fawlty, “kill a man at ten paces with one blow of her tongue!!”
Wait… is Schtein wearing black nail varnish? Did he go a bit goth?
I only just noticed. It wasn’t so visible on previous pages, because previous pages didn’t show his fingernails much.
Or do we have to worry about Schtein’s health even more? (Haematomas under fingernails can be a sign of radiation sickness? Not sure if the Doc is playing around with radioactive materials, or how healthy his teleportation device is…)
his nails have been getting progressively darker as he uses his powers. actually normally I color pick the same color I use for his dark under eyes for his nails, and I did the same on this page except his eyes are quite a bit darker shaded than normal because he’s… doing… not great.
Great use of shadows (I’m actually scared to imagine that room in full light, eww, Schtein), and of sepia-tones/browns for Schtein’s panels versus green for Eliza Thanatos’ panel and dress, so that she stands out in panel 5 from the rest of the room.
But also, the green of Eliza’s dress and her background in panel 3 is not the green of fresh leaves or grass, but green with a blue-ish tint, an absinthe-green, subtly hinting at her being a poisonous person and drug dealer.
