Oh my god, Doc, look at all that cash! Just imagine all the blow you can buy with that pile!
Just imagine all the blow you could buy with that pile if you get out of the QUARANTINE ZONE caused by your grandaddy’s creepy experiments. Cash for exposing yourself to papaw’s nasty handiwork? Sounds reasonable.
Good to know that, despite all his eccentricities, Schtein still functions the same as us on SOME level :)
“I won’t do it.
Not for all the money in the world.”
“What about all the money in this suitcase?”
I wonder if this is the start up money he gets start his evil empire.
he’s going to blow all the money on new ties, I’m sure.
You can’t snort new ties, though. Well, you can’t snort new ties and get high. Or can you?
It depends. Are the new ties made of cocaine?
You can cut the cocaine into the shape of a new tie
They probably make ties of hemp. I’m Dutch, I should know.
A page before Christmas and soft porn on top? Oh, you are my favorite artist right now.
what, porn? where? wha?
I was referring to your tumblr. Oh, supposedly it was more fan service, or who I am to judge your motives.
quantum moneys are less persuasive than cash wad suitcases
I wouldn’t settle for that suitcase until they stuffed the top sleeves with cash.
Yep, that’s ALMOST enough money. Put some zeroes behind that, and give me a tank and some air support and we MIGHT have a deal.
Panel 3 looks like it has a tarantula climbing his coat; really odd choice for the finger-spread, doesn’t seem natural (unless you’re Vulcan I guess…) .
Especially considering you’re usually so good at drawing hands. Way better than most artists anyway.
how helpful. Who doesn’t love a good ol’ fashioned backhanded compliment. :P
Though you probably knew this already; it’s drawn perfectly for expressing tension. You’ve got some amazingly accurate body language in your characters.
Kinda does invoke ‘tarantula’ vibes, but it also expresses what he’s feeling right then. Doesn’t look unnatural at all. Totally nails the body language for ‘wait a minute, what?!? Ahhh!’
Looks like someone is building a teleport machine!
Wooww I love Doc’s eyes on this page, they seem to stand out more weird-awesomely on this one. And, as always I am super jealous of your skeezy backgrounds, annd man the interaction and the expressiveness of his falling off the chair yeaahh
You would think that spending time in prison would help with his neat freak issues. There might be a subtle difference between sharing a toilet and going to a city that now has ‘Quarantine Zone’ permanently pasted on as a suffix.
My first thought was that during his relatively short time in prison, inflation has actually devalued all that cash to far below what Schtein expects it to be.
I once read a story about the Beagle Boys where that exact same thing happened.
Escape from Chicago!
Can someone make this a movie? This would be one hell of a movie.
And so many more ways to screw it up.
Oh my, I suddenly remember the “Containment Zone Chicago” plotline back in Shadowrun’s 3rd Edition. Giant insect spirits. Good thing the world of String Theory has no magic. Only mad science… whoops.
You’ve really evoked his panic vividly–I felt it even when I could only see the top of panel 4. And the final panel still seems to contain the adrenaline from it. LOVE.
Oooh, seed money for his evil villainous empire
50 nos and 1 yes mean yes. Especially when a lot of money is involved.
RIDE THAT CHAIR! YEEHAY!!!
Grundy, I am unable to express how excited I am to see what Chicago looks like. I’ve been hoping since I started reading that we’d get to see the inside of the quarantine zone and how bad (or maybe not so bad) things are. This amuses the Katie.
Also, I know everyone tells you that your art is getting better but you should definitely believe them because it so entirely is. Your expressions are great; you can convey a lot with subtlety that can be hard to pull off in quick webcomic form. The background colors influencing the emotions of the panel they’re in have also gotten really nice, too. Or maybe that’s random and I’m just seeing it that way, and you just really liked the color orange this time.
