Probably because he can only hurt himself with a shovel and an incinerator, rather than blow up something with the machinery. He has a habit of blowing stuff up.

I was so distracted by how adorable that first panel is that I didn’t notice his lack of shirt.

I like how they don’t trust Schtein around machinery, but they’ll let him have a shovel and an incinerator. :\ Eep.

So, I’m surprised more people aren’t saying this, but… I found the first panel incredibly sad. Not the “unrequited-slightly-obsessive-love” part, which is just funny, but the fact that Schtein dreams of himself with normal eyes and normal hair, making physical contact without any OCD/germaphobic discomfort… It just made me sad for him, is all. It was like seeing a person in a wheelchair have a dream about just running and running forever.

But then, I’ve always felt really bad for him about the eyes thing because everyone says the eyes are the windows to the soul, your retina is as distinctive as your fingerprint, etc, etc, and his real eyes are gone forever. He can never get them back.

I guess I just saw the first panel and instantly thought, “Oh, he misses his eyes! *sob*”

Great job, in any case. Beautifully done.

Dr. Schtein having a love dream is the greatest thing ever thought. That first panel… my God. It hurt my teeth.

I do love your ever evolving way to transition. You also have a good eye with emotion. I do love his expression in the second panel, and his looks in the first. Haha…

Yet again, it’s always a delight reading your pages.
