oh boy, here comes the fun part
So..He’s Doc’s uncle? x: ….Aaaaahhhhh I love the colors on this paaaage.
ha ha I guess technically he is!
WAIT WAIT is Orville being kind to one kid, and then strict on the other? Or does the top panel show 1 character, 2 different time periods?
OH GOSH THIS IS GETTING SO GOOD
No don’t interrupt, driver, I wanna hear more about Grandpa Orville!
The pleasure/pain reward/punishment program is one of the oldest and, in my opinion, one of the best programs. If you shower your charges with affection, love and respect the impact of that being taken away hurts more than actually physically hurting them. Kinda like working with dogs, horses or other work critters. Love them with a firm hand but keep that firm hand ready for use should they step out of line. Though I’m sure the kids with the most promise were treated as favorites and the less than ideals got more of the crap end of the stick. This is only my opinion.
Ohh, I am sooo looking forward to this.
This page is awesome, Beckey.
Oh jesus I’d forgotton how much I’d missed Doc’s facial expressions.
I absolutely LOVE how you’ve had Schtein go from classy madman in the last chapter to undeniable punk in this one. The difference in attitude between panel 5 on this page and panel 4 from chapter 5, page 3 despite the same grumpiness is amazing.
Orville has lots of control over his experiments…
Only because his experiments figured out how to get the hell away from him. Hence why (can’t remember if he’s Cain or Able) doesn’t want to risk being near him.
Able. Able does the purple smoke thing and Cain does the sparklers. Gotcha.
easier ways to tell Cain and Abel apart: Cain’s sweet dad-stache.
In flash backs if one of the kids is way taller and older it’s probably Cain, like here. But yes, their powers are also color coded, Abel has the weird purple smokey stuff and Cain’s is supposed to be kind of golden in color.
“Cain” and “Abel” are interesting names for a pair of brothers.
Still trying to guess whether it’s irony that Cain is the “good” brother (as near as we can tell) or if an interesting turn of events will reveal that both brothers actually have some eerie similarities to their biblical counterparts.
hmm hmm hmm we’ll see
they’re actually more named for a poem than the bible story, tho’
That was an unexpected twist, creating a human life-form with such power!?! Oh opa what have you been up to.
Schtein looks so damn cool in his new threads! So punk rock.
Schtein is such an asshole. He is my very favorite.
(psst someone go put the Flat What on tvtropes)
Hmmm. I know Schtein sees everything in black and white. I wonder, with so many colors, can we get a gray-scale POV from him! I’d love the contrast and see how you handle the B&W shots now when compared to the starting comics!
not any time soon. Something like that shows up later on.
Wow, such an amazing comic. The detailed artwork, amazing plot. Im just so glad I found it!
“He created me. *pause* DUN DUN DUUUUNNNNN!”
“I really don’t think that was nece-”
“IT WAS TOTALLY NECESSARY.”
That kind of reveal deserves SOME kind of reaction! A confused “whut?” is just unacceptable and insulting to my pain!
Loving the facial expressions on this page, especially Schtein’s.
Also, super excited for whatever’s to come!
Hey, wait a minute… Isn’t that pilot from Rmantically Appocalyptic?
Since I’ve never posted before, let me be the Nth one to say that I love this comic!
it sure isn’t. It’s just a pair of night vision goggles on a dude.
Hmm…. It’s hard to find goggles that awesome in two comics in a row.
It’s not the same type of goggles at all, though.
Ah, 5th panel, love that pose. Schtein is such a diva. ;-)
Best reaction to a dramatic “HE CREATED ME!” ever.
