Eric kind of looks like Lurch. Delia’s taste in men is rather suspect, I think.
Aw I don’t really have a clue as to who her new boss could be but I am so willing to find out. The dialogue in this page really shows a lot about the dynamic of their relationship, I think. It’s great.
On thing though: In the second panel, my brain keeps reading Eric’s box as a binder or something flat though it’s clearly a box in other panels. I think it something to do with the relationship between his right arm and his shoulders with the edge of the box?
Is he being replaced by Schtein? I’m just hopeful…
Be kinda odd, as they made sure to ensure she believed him to be dead. But maybe she’s gained the clearance to work with “dead” people?
I don’t think Thanatos ltd wants to share his research with the Government. With such an invention, they can become the government. (Now assuming this is also the FBI headquarters in the alternative reality.)
Then again there is a little “small world” tendencies observable in this story with Laurence being his ex-wife’s brother and all, so why not.
Maybe it’s Orvy and the story changes from prison drama into a story of innocent woman being forcefully captured as a bribe into a crazy German super villain family.
so she’s into men that who’s heads are shaped like squares? XD
“Eric kind of looks like Lurch. Delia’s taste in men is rather suspect, I think.”
That was exactly what went through my head by panel 2, before I had even scrolled down to the comments section!
Panel 4: I adore the little detail of Delia wearing green nail polish, colour-coordinated with her green tie.
So, women in this pseudo-1950s-retro-scifi setting wear men’s ties and miniskirts? It fits Delia. Also, nice touch that she is wearing low heels and walks with heel forward like a man, fits in with her character we’ve seen so far. Feminie touches, but more concerned with practicality. She’s a scientist, she’s here to work not to be a bimbo secretary.
The mood backgrounds in some of these panels are just wonderful. Panel 5 really seems to represent his character. Tired, plain floral print!
Also, I’m glad that you haven’t taken the easy way out for backgrounds. It can be easy in close-up scenes to just never really render the background, but going that extra mile helps place the comic and I really love how you have done that!
Delia’s choice in men? It could be that in the not-too-distant future, people aren’t quite as superficial. Delia’s more into brains than brawn? She was bonked on the head in some lab explosion?
Eric seemed to be searching very hard for an excuse in panel 5. Very fitting, as I doubt that’s really the reason they’re transfering him. I’m vouching that it has to do with the old restraining order. I can’t wait to find out about this mysterious new boss. Other than my comments, beautiful art as usual :)
Gad, the amount of detail in these pages will never cease to amaze me! The backgrounds themselves are works of art.
And, hey…Lurch is awesome. It’s by no means a bad thing if Eric looks like him. Gad, I think I’m in love with Delia…she just kicks so much ass…
Delia, will you EVER stop being so adorable? (No)
Hey heyheyhey hey– He has a tie on…! Don’t be fooled! It’s just his scarf tied elegantly…!!
I can’t help but also sort of chuckle when I see Eric… He looks half-dead to me. I love it.
Hm, the shade on Delia’s eyes in panel 4 doesn’t work for me… my brain keeps making it look like her eyes are half-closed. Works everywhere else though.
Funny, the expression in that panel *really* worked for me. The tilt of the head really gives the emotion a nice specificity.
The head tilt and everything work. It’s only her eyes that trip me up. Well and the nail polish. That was an awesome detail.
secretly I meant to erase the shading on the eyes because I didn’t like it either, but then I forgot. Sometimes I get a bit forgetful after drawing for about ten hours. Annoying when it happens! But it’s not as major as a few of the bits I’ve messed up in the past. C:
I will generally refrain from pointing out my goofs because most people won’t notice them, and I think if I pointed it out it would bother people. Anyway, now begins a madcap dash through my archives to find all the bits I’ve forgotten to color or drawn wrong over the years! Hooray!
woooooowww wooowwww goodness gracious Delia looks gorgeous!
ah, thank goodness. She’s supposed to be pretty. I was not a good enough artist in the earlier chapters to convey this, sadly, but I am making efforts to get much better at drawing ladies! A continual regimen of improvement forever. Glad to see it is paying off. C:
Good. A new boss. Anyone but this dude Eric. He gives me the creeps!
but why? Is it his corpse-like pallor?
The art has never stopped improving, but this chapter so far really highlights that evolution. Incredibly well-drawn and well-colored. Can’t wait for more!
Hmmm I wonder who her new boss will be?
Anyone notice a certain balding ginger in the background of panel 4….?
I’m going to go ahead and spoil it that that’s just some random guy if you’re thinking it’s laurence. It’s not, it’s just some bald guy, not even ginger, just brown hair. Sorry I just draw a lot of bald guys I guess. :D
Lotsa guys are bald. You could sneak a Donald Trump in there though.
I’m in total awe as always of both the story ability and the art. Well done!!!!
I just love the look of this strip!
